The 24th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) 2014 was held
in Barcelona, Spain from May 10th to 13th, 2014.

The ECCMID is a conference held by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), which is mainly led by doctors related to clinical microbiology and infectious diseases around the world, especially Europe. This year’s conference deals with various issues at a professional level, including infectious disease management, infectious disease treatments, the latest diagnostic methods, and new infectious diseases with approximately 9,500 participants from all over the world.

Seegene has been participated as an exhibitor in ECCMID for 7 years in a row, and Seegene was the only Korean diagnostics provider at the exhibition. In this year, Seegene presented various product lineups to its current customers and prospective customers, including a multiplexed diagnostics product for simultaneously detecting and analyzing pathogens that cause respiratory diseases, STIs, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and human papilloma virus (HPV) that causes cervical cancers and genital warts, a product for detecting and quantifying cytomegalovirus (CMV), a type of herpes, and a product for testing mutations related to thrombosis.

In addition, Seegene also took part in the corporate symposium, one of the official programs of ESCMID. At the symposium, where speeches were made by key opinion leaders in the field of HPVs (human papilloma virus) study from the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Sweden, Seegene had the opportunity to promote the effectiveness and excellence of clinical assessment of its product in testing 28 types of HPVs to a large audience of HPV specialists from around the world. After the symposium, Seegene held a VIP banquet in the evening with its important customers, who shared their feedback on Seegene products.

On the other hand, they held a photo-zone event in their booth, which was very popular among visitors last year. Visitors had a great time again this year with taking photos with Seegene’s angel wings.

Next year's ECCMID will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from April 25th to 28th, 2015.
