  • Launched Magicplex™ MTB Real-Time Detection

Detection of MTB1Using READ™ technology, this product simultaneously detects both IS6110 and MPB64 genes in tuberculosis bacilli and tests for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), through Real-time PCR. Testing for IS6110 & MPB64 genes IS6110 is an insertion sequence present in the MTB genome. As most MTB have one to twenty copies of it, its presence is a useful indicator in tuberculosis tests. There have, however, been reports of MTB strains without this gene, and in such a case, the accuracy of diagnosis can be enhanced by testing simultaneously for IS6110 and MPB64, which is a conserved sequence present in single copy in the MTB genome. This product is designed to detect both genes, significantly improving sensitivity. Molecular detection of MTB Acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smears and culture tests have been conventionally used in the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Although AFB smears are simple and fast, they suffer from low sensitivity and specificity; culture tests are the most accurate among the standard methods, but take a long time, approximately 8 weeks, to produce results. On the other hand, nucleic acid amplification, which has emerged recently as a promising method with the advances in molecular diagnostic technology, detects MTB directly from the sample, and it is being used widely due to its high sensitivity and its ability to produce results quickly. • Launched Magicplex™ HPV 16/18 Amplification

Magicplex™ HPV 16/18 Amplification Discrimination of HPV16 and HPV18 Using READ™ technology, this product detects and distinguishes between HPV 16 and HPV 18 viruses, which are the main cause of cervical cancer. Most cases of HPV infection end in natural recovery within several months, but in those cases where the infection persists for more than twelve months, it may lead to CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) and cervical cancer. In particular, it has been reported that HPV 16 and 18 cause approximately 70% of all cervical cancers worldwide. NOT AVAILABLE IN US

  • Launched Magicplex™ HSV 1/2 Amplification

Magicplex™ HSV 1/2 Amplification Simultaneous detection of Hepatitis A/B/C Using READ™ technology, this product simultaneously detects and discriminates between HSV 1 and HSV 2, on Real-time PCR. Herpes simplex Virus (HSV) Herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 are two members of the herpes virus family, Herpesviridae, that infect humans. Both HSV 1 and 2 are ubiquitous and contagious. They lead to latent infection, recurring outbreaks, and permanent infection, and may cause pudendal and oral cancers. HSV 1 usually produces lesions on the face and in the mouth, and HSV 2 on the genitalia and the anus. Over 90% of adults carry the virus in a latent state, and over 80% of patients with cervical cancer occurring inside the vagina possess antibody for HSV 2. The main route of transmission for HSV 2 is sexual contact, and testing for HSV 2 infection may be considered as a step in preventing cervical cancer. NOT AVAILABLE IN US

  • Launched Magicplex™ STI 1 Amplification

Magicplex™ STI 1 Amplification Detection of 5 most common STI pathogens STI 1 Real-time Test, using READ™, amplifies the 5 most common pathogens that cause sexually transmitted inflammations in order to conduct the simultaneous tests by panels (Panel 1 (Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae) and Panel 2 (Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum)). C. trachomatis, N. gonorrhoeae, M. genitalium, M. hominis and U. urealyticum are the common causes of sexually-transmitted infections. Despite their high frequencies, most of cases are asymptomatic, which cause the delay of infection’s treatment and its eventual development into PID, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, chronic pelvic pain, cervicitis and urethritis. Magicplex™ STI 1 Real-time Test demonstrates a higher accuracy than the conventional diagnostic methods (e.g. Culture, Immuno assay, Conventional PCR, Real-time PCR) with reduction in test duration and additional test costs by Multiplex. It will be the perfect tool for preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases with rapid and accurate diagnosis. NOT AVAILABLE IN US
