Anyplex™ BRAF V600E Real-time DetectionAnyplex™ BRAF V600E Real-time Detection is designed to detect BRAF mutation (V600E) characteristic for papillary thyroid carcinoma from samples of thyroid tissue, FNAB, H&E slides and paraffin-embedded tissues. NOT AVAILABLE IN US The BRAF gene involves in mediating cellular response to growth, differentiation and death signals in RAS → RAF → MEK → MAP kinase pathway. BRAF mutations are common in melanoma, colon cancer, gliomas, and lung cancer. In 80% cases, it is a single substitution1), 2) (V600E). Especially, in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), the incidence of BRAF mutation occurs 26 ? 69% (likely 45-50%) of all cases1), 3). Anyplex™ BRAF V600E Real-time Detection tests BRAF mutation, the most common genetic mutation in PTC, with single PCR reaction by utilizing DPO™ technology. 1) M Xing. Magicplex™ MTB Amplification1 Detection of MTB1Using READ™ technology, this product simultaneously detects both IS6110 and MPB64 genes in tuberculosis bacilli and tests for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), through Real-time PCR.Testing for IS6110 & MPB64 genes IS6110 is an insertion sequence present in the MTB genome. As most MTB have one to twenty copies of it, its presence is a useful indicator in tuberculosis tests. There have, however, been reports of MTB strains without this gene, and in such a case, the accuracy of diagnosis can be enhanced by testing simultaneously for IS6110 and MPB64, which is a conserved sequence present in single copy in the MTB genome. This product is designed to detect both genes, significantly improving sensitivity. Molecular detection of MTB Acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smears and culture tests have been conventionally used in the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Although AFB smears are simple and fast, they suffer from low sensitivity and specificity; culture tests are the most accurate among the standard methods, but take a long time, approximately 8 weeks, to produce results. On the other hand, nucleic acid amplification, which has emerged recently as a promising method with the advances in molecular diagnostic technology, detects MTB directly from the sample, and it is being used widely due to its high sensitivity and its ability to produce results quickly.
